Small Trip

Took a trip down to visit with Ashley's family this week, since when I start my new job it will be harder to make it down there.

Here are a couple of pictures from the trip.

On our last day there we went to a coffee shop and ate breakfast. It was a neat little greasy spoon kinda place. In the back they had a claw machine and a Street Fighter 2 arcade cabinet. It was awesome. I played Ashley and kicked her butt, then made it to Guile before he kept hitting me with sonic booms from across the screen.

The funniest thing about the claw machine that was there, was that all the stuffed animals in it were preowned. Some had stains and there was a pound puppy that already had BREE written on the tag.

Trip to K-town

Ok so not a trip to Korea-Town but a trip to Knoxville Tennessee. We went to watch Modest Mouse at the Valarium.

We left early and went by a mall. Ashley bought a new cardigan and saved 40% cause she used a coupon that she got off her phone. I thought that was neat, technology is great (and also kinda scary).

Anyway in the mall while walking around we found a cotton candy machine!!! I was like "weird", but I know Ashley has a sweet tooth the size of Texas so I put two dollars in. After a moment of whirring and vibrating, instant cotton candy. It was colorless but tasted like cotton candy.

Now on to the show......I'm sorry to say I was less than impressed with the live performance of Modest Mouse. Don't get me wrong I like the band and a handful of their albums. There was just something lacking and I really couldn't hear anything it was just like a huge wall of sound. Maybe I'm just getting old...

New Job!!!!!!

Had a job interview today at my old school. It went way better than I ever thought it would. Needless to say I left the interview with a new job. I will be a teachers assistant in a fifth grade classroom working with special education students.

While I really am excited about the job and all the new things. I feel bad for leaving Ashley at the casino, I feel like I am abandoning her there. Hopefully we can find her a job in her field.

Ahhh....good day now I'm gonna kick back and enjoy a few cold ones before going to work tonight ;)

and twenty minutes later.....

so after i got my new phone ashley played around with it and sheliked it so i decided to get her one. ordered it from amazon on sat and it showed up yesterday. now i guess i know how it feels to be on the other side of the phone : )

i used to live in a big house with a bunch of my friends. when i say a bunch i mean like six. it was a very big house.

now i have my own house (sorta) and i live with my girlfriend. i like my space and privacy, but there are times that i miss being able to walk out my door and someone be awake doing something.

i guess i am writing this post because this past weekend (4th of july) one of my good friends came home for the weekend and i didn't even make it down to see him. was i working? yes. was i tired? yes. could i have made time? yes. did i? no.

i don't know what happened between then and now. i'm not even sure if anything changed. well i do know what changed: families, moving away, disagreements, new ventures.

Work

So this is where i work. I can't name it or say disparaging things about it according to our new company policy.

However i can say that i feel that i lose a little piece of my soul everyday i go to work.

Just thought i'd share a little piece of my workday.

Quarter Century!!!

at 8:25 in the am today i will have been around for a quarter of a century. not very long when put in perspective, and it doesn't really feel very long. i mean when i remember back to elementary school it seems like yesterday.

anyway my mom had a cookout for me on wednesday, cause thanks to the holiday weekend my schedule is still weird and i have to work on my actual birthday july 8th. luckily the place the cookout was held is at the bottom of my favorite trail. so i got a couple of my friends together and we did a shuttle run to the top of the mountain so we could ride down.

Hit Cove Creek Today

so went riding today. was a pretty good ride. was one of my friends first ride in pisgah forest. here are a couple of pics from today.

new technology, yay!

well there hasn't been much going on the past few days. watched eclipse again, but this time it was pretty funny. there was a girl sitting beside us and the entire movie she was literally sitting on the edge of her seat and biting her nails. then when something happened in the movie she would get all giddy and giggly. i just didn't realize how much people got into it, i guess

in other news i bought a new phone, its a htc incredible. its a huge step up from my blackberry.

haven't been able to ride cause i have to work. stupid holidays.

I have a blog?!?!?

Ok so I have a blog now. Why do I have a blog? Mostly just because I have been watching my girlfriend (underthoseneonlights) blog for a little bit. There's that and then there's the idea I had to help me train for a race and possibly score me a set of I-9 wheels.

So in order to train I am going to have to ride more and refine my diet. In my head these two things should help me get the wheelset because I have a deal with Ashley, the deal is if I can get down to 220lbs then she will buy the I-9s for me. I figure doing this publicly and just making an everyday post will be very helpful.
